Plastic Chair Mold Machining
Mould Steel Procurement
Once the mould design is confirmed by the client, we can proceed with purchasing and cutting the mould steel. Steel plates are cut by the steel supplier. We simply send the steel purchase order to the supplier, with the steel specifications and tooling requirements clearly marked on the purchase order sheet. Steel cutting is the first step in the mould tooling process. This job is performed by the steel supplier's factory. Before the steel plates are delivered to our factory, we will check the steel hardness. Inspecting the steel hardness helps verify the quality of the steel, as each type of steel has its own hardness level. If the hardness matches the ordered specification, it means the steel is exactly what was ordered.
Plastic Chair Mold Rough Tooling
For home appliances moulds, the primary machine for rough tooling is CNC milling. However, for larger parts, we use a tooling center, which is much faster for machining large moulds. After rough tooling, the moulds proceed to precise tooling, which includes CNC high-speed milling and CNC engraving tooling.
Plastic Chair Mold Precise Tooling
Precise tooling includes CNC engraving tooling, high-speed CNC milling tooling, EDM tooling, and EDW tooling, among others. CNC engraving tooling can be classified into high-speed, medium-speed, and normal-speed categories. The precision follows the order: high-speed > medium-speed > normal-speed. Therefore, when parts require high precision, the tooling must use high-speed CNC engraving. At the same time, the tooling cost follows the same order: high-speed > medium-speed > normal-speed. Thus, the higher the tolerance requirements for part sizes, the higher the tooling cost.
